Paddy

Originally from Bromley, South-East London, Paddy started playing the bassoon from the age of 8 with his teacher, Jonathan Price. Paddy enjoyed many Bromley Youth Orchestra tours to Italy, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands, where he represented Great Britain at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade. Paddy decided to then study an undergraduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with professors Dan Jemison, Helen Storey and Richard Ion before studying. Master degree at the Royal College of Music.

He is currently on trial for Principal Bassoon with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and is freelancing regularly as Principal Bassoon with the Royal Opera House and Ballet, Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Irish National Opera.

In his spare time, Paddy is a passionate cook, cooking for his family and friends as well as private events, and has appeared on the television show “Masterchef” on the BBC.
